Roscommon GAA and Club Rossie Honour Sean Mulryan

April 14th, 2025

London, UK – Roscommon GAA and Club Rossie hosted a special evening on Thursday, April 3rd at Darby’s, Embassy Gardens, London, to honour the remarkable contribution of Sean Mulryan of Ballymore. The event marked 25 years of Mr. Mulryan’s unwavering support for Roscommon GAA and launched the next phase of fundraising for the Dermot Earley Centre of Excellence – a transformational development for Gaelic games in the county.

Held in the iconic Embassy Gardens – one of Ballymore’s signature developments – in front of a full capacity audience, the evening brought together leading Irish and UK business and community figures. Guests included Ambassador of Ireland to the UK Martin Fraser, Chair of the Ireland Funds of Great Britain Bridget Walsh, CEO of The Ireland Funds Katie Jemmett, Paul Earley, musician Michael English, Joe Brolly, Owen Killian, and Pat King, founder of King & Moffatt – title sponsors of the newly redeveloped King & Moffatt Dr. Hyde Park.

In addition to the €175,000 raised on the night, Ballymore’s supply chain attended the event and pledged their expert advice and fit-out contribution services to the Dermot Earley Centre of Excellence.

The highlight of the evening was a captivating performance by renowned artist Imelda May.

In his 25 years of support, Sean Mulryan has made an extraordinary contribution to Roscommon GAA – from facilities to financial sustainability – and to numerous charities, including the Mayo Roscommon Hospice. His vision and generosity have left an enduring mark on the GAA community and beyond.

Roscommon GAA Chairperson Brian Carroll said:
“Sean’s contribution has been transformational – not just in bricks and mortar, but in belief. We’re proud to honour him as we launch this next chapter for Roscommon GAA.”

Dermot Earley Centre of Excellence – A New Era Begins

The event also served as a fundraiser for the Dermot Earley Centre of Excellence. Located on a 22-acre site on the edge of Roscommon town, the centre will provide three full-sized pitches (including a 4G surface), a state-of-the-art clubhouse, gym, meeting rooms, and administrative facilities. Planning permission has been secured and the tendering process is underway. Ballymore has provided design support, and Sean Mulryan officially turned the sod on the project on March 21, 2025.

This landmark project is named in honour of the late Dermot Earley, one of Roscommon’s greatest ever players and a national sporting and military figure. Dermot’s legacy – on and off the field – embodies leadership, commitment, and community.
